The software

murus is open source under the Apache License, Version 2.0. That licence governs your use of the code and takes precedence over anything on this page that conflicts with it, including its disclaimer of warranty and limitation of liability.

You may use, modify and redistribute murus under those terms. You do not need our permission and there is nothing to sign.

Your account is yours

murus acts on your Cloudflare account using credentials you supply. You are responsible for the changes it makes on your behalf, for keeping your credentials secure, and for complying with Cloudflare's own terms. Nothing here creates a relationship between you and Cloudflare, or changes the one you already have.

murus is pre-1.0. It asks before doing anything destructive and verifies changes by reading them back, but it is young software operating on production infrastructure. Review every plan before you approve it, and keep your own backups.

The OAuth client

We publish a Cloudflare OAuth client so you can sign in from a browser without minting a token by hand. It is offered as a convenience, with no guarantee that it will remain available. We may change the scopes it requests or withdraw it entirely.

If that matters to you, register a client in your own Cloudflare account and point murus at it, or use an API token. Both are supported and documented.

Do not use our client identifier to build something that impersonates murus. You may revoke murus's access at any time from Cloudflare's Authorized Applications page.

No warranty

murus and this website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages or other liability arising from the use of murus, including loss of data, loss of service availability, or cost of substitute services.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or liabilities. In those places, the above applies to the greatest extent permitted, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Contributions

Contributions submitted to the project are licensed under Apache-2.0, as set out in section 5 of that licence. Contributors are expected to follow the project's code of conduct.

Trademark

The Apache-2.0 licence does not grant trademark rights. You may say your project uses or works with murus. Please do not use the name or mark in a way that suggests we endorse or maintain your project.

Changes

These terms may change; the revision date above changes with them, and the edit is visible in the repository's history. Continuing to use murus after a change means you accept it.
